Harry Redknapp looking for loan cover

Harry Redknapp reveals that he is trying to bring in loan cover for his Queens Park Rangers squad that has been weakened by long-term injuries to Bobby Zamora and Nedum Onuoha.

Harry Redknapp has revealed that he wants to sign a striker and a centre-half on loan to help bolster his injury-hit Queens Park Rangers squad.

Bobby Zamora is a long-term absentee from the Hoops attack, while Andy Johnson is another forward option currently unavailable to Redknapp.

Charlie Austin is now the only fit striker at Redknapp's disposal, and with Nedum Onuoha also sidelined in defence, the Championship outfit are also short of numbers at the back.

Redknapp told reporters: "We are trying. Bobby Zamora has had an operation on his knee so he will be out until Christmas time, and Andy Johnson has picked up a bit of an injury so he will be out for a little while, hopefully it won't be too long.

"We lost Nedum Onuoha as well. He'd been in great form. He did his hamstring the other day and is going to be out for a couple of months.

"So, Clint goes back into centre-half but that leaves us with two senior players, him and Richard Dunne. They are both outstanding players, but no cover."

However, Redknapp has admitted that Tottenham Hotspur marksman Emmanuel Adebayor is unlikely to be the solution to his lack of forward options.
