Jason Puncheon completes a loan move to Queens Park Rangers from Southampton.

Jason Puncheon has officially become a Queens Park Rangers player until January 2, 2012 after a loan deal was reached with Southampton.

The 25-year-old frontman, who completed a loan stint at Blackpool last season, put pen to paper just in time before the 11pm transfer deadline yesterday (August 31).

The Premier League club's manager Neil Warnock is confident that Puncheon can make an impact at Loftus Road.

"It just made sense to give him an opportunity to come in until January and show us what he can do,” Warnock told the club’s official website. "This all happened very late in the day so I am very pleased we got him in.

"Jason is a good acquisition because he brings pace and plenty of desire. To be perfectly honest, he was so keen to come to QPR I think he would have paid us!

"He is desperate to do well, and that really impressed me."

Puncheon was one of four players Warnock signed on transfer deadline day alongside the captures of Armand Traore, Anton Ferdinand and Shaun Wright-Phillips.
