Queen Park Rangers have signed Marseille defender Stephane Mbia while Joey Barton has headed in the opposite direction on a season-long loan.
Mbia becomes signing number 12 for QPR this summer, while Barton moves to the French side after being frozen out at Loftus Road.
The former Newcastle United man was stripped of his captaincy after he was given a 12-game ban by the FA for a violent conduct charge on Manchester City's Sergio
Aguero on the final day of last season.
Barton was also not given a squad number by Rangers manager Mark Hughes.
