Barton dismisses QPR exit rumours

Queens Park Rangers midfielder Joey Barton has played down reports that he has demanded a move away from the club.

The 30-year-old spent last season on loan at Marseille and recently revealed that the French side had offered him a three-year deal.

However, it has been claimed that Barton wants £3.5m to have his contract terminated at Loftus Road.

He tweeted: "A lot of rumours circulating about me, Marseille and QPR in last few days. As usual loads of nonsense. I haven't had a conversation with anyone at QPR since February. When I told them Marseille had offered me 3 years. That was last I heard."

Barton joined QPR on a free transfer from Newcastle United in 2011.
