Hughes: QPR will never face relegation again

Queens Park Rangers manager Mark Hughes has claimed that the club will never face a relegation battle again while he is in charge following their narrow final-day escape on Sunday.

Despite losing 3-2 at Manchester City, Bolton Wanderers' 2-2 draw at Stoke City meant that Rangers avoided the drop by a single point.

However, Hughes insists that the team will only get stronger in the years to come.

"From my point of view there's no way we will ever be in this situation again while I am manager of QPR because I have good people around me, got great support from the owner and CEO and this club is going to be a lot stronger in the future," he told Sky Sports News.

"But we needed to stay in the Premier League today and thankfully we have."

Hughes joined the club in January following the sacking of Neil Warnock.
