Harry Redknapp hails "fantastic" Robert Green after Burnley win

Harry Redknapp praises the spirit shown by QPR and the performance of goalkeeper Robert Green following the the 2-0 victory over relegation rivals Burnley.

Queens Park Rangers manager Harry Redknapp has praised the performance of goalkeeper Robert Green during yesterday's 2-0 victory over Burnley.

The Hoops came out on top in the basement battle at Loftus Road courtesy of second-half goals from Leroy Fer and former Clarets striker Charlie Austin.

However, the visitors would have edged ahead before the interval if not for the intervention of Green, who managed to tip George Boyd's effort onto the post to pave the way for his side's vital win.

"Rob Green was excellent, fantastic. That save from Boyd, I was right behind it, and that was top corner all the way," Redknapp is quoted as saying by World Soccer Talk.

"As soon as he hit it I said 'that's in', so how he's got his fingertips to that I don't know, it's an amazing save. He's a great keeper and a great pro, fantastic person.

"It was a great save and if you go one down you lose momentum obviously. But he kept us in it at nil-nil, and in the second half we showed a lot of spirit."

The victory, which was QPR's third in seven outings, lifts them out of the Premier League's bottom three.
