Derby County boss Steve McClaren rubbishes reports linking him to QPR job

Steve McClaren rejects speculation linking him to the manager's job at Queens Park Rangers by insisting that he is focused on Derby County.

Derby County boss Steve McClaren has waved away reports that he could become the next manager of Queens Park Rangers.

The former England boss is reportedly on a three-man shortlist to replace Harry Redknapp at Loftus Road.

Redknapp resigned from his role at the Premier League club on Tuesday, citing double knee surgery as his reason to depart.

In today's press conference, McClaren was asked about the speculation and he responded by saying: "I answered that a few weeks ago (when he was linked to Newcastle) and it is the same answer now. Nothing changes.

"We laugh it off and move on quick. So let's focus and concentrate on the job in hand which is trying to get Derby County into the Premier League."

McClaren worked at QPR as a member of the coaching staff in 2013.
