Scott Malone: 'Cardiff City can be right up there at the end of the season'

Cardiff City centre-back Scott Malone believes that his side can finish high enough to earn automatic promotion from the Championship this season.

Cardiff City defender Scott Malone has suggested that the club can gain automatic promotion from the Championship this season.

Malone was on the scoresheet this weekend as City earned a memorable 2-2 draw with Queens Park Rangers to maintain their unbeaten start in the league.

"The way we're playing and the vibe in the dressing room, why can't we finish in the top six, if not the top two?" said Malone, according to BBC Sport.

"If we can keep drawing and keep winning this year, then we can be right up there."

Cardiff currently hold two points after two draws in their opening Championship fixtures.
