Queens Park Rangers forward Jamie Mackie has insisted that his side can avoid relegation from the Premier League this season.
The Londoners currently sit 19th in the table and only goal difference separates them from bottom club Southampton.
The Hoops drew 1-1 with fellow strugglers Reading on Sunday, and while Mackie is disappointed with the result he is certain that QPR can stay up.
"I honestly believe that we have got the quality [to stay up], but it doesn't matter how much quality you've got, you have to win football games," Mackie told talkSPORT. "We're a little bit gutted we haven't nicked it at the end there with the chance that we had late on.
"At times it was really open. We probably thought it would be like that with both teams desperate for a win.
"We're very disappointed we've conceded from a set-piece again. We need to tighten up and make sure the more basic things about our game are solid and with the creative flair we've got in our team we should be winning games like that. I suppose people thought with signings, this, that and the other that we'd get off to a flying start but it doesn't always work like that."
QPR travel to Stoke City in their next game on Saturday.
