New Queens Park Rangers striker Andy Johnson has spoken of his excitement at the prospect of first-team football at the club.
Johnson, who joined the club from Fulham this summer, has not played a competitive game since March after injury and then a situation with his contract meant that he missed the end of last season.
However, Johnson, who featured in QPR's 5-0 pre-season win over Kelantan, is eager to force his way into the first team at Loftus Road.
"It was important to get some more game time under my belt," he told the club's official website.
"It's really important for me to get that time on the pitch because we've all had eight weeks off, and I didn't play the last four or five weeks of last season because of my situation with contracts and stuff, so I am delighted to be getting back out there again.
"Now I just need to get the first goal under my belt and then I can kick on from there."
QPR's first Premier League match of the coming season will be against Swansea on August 18.
