Glenn Hoddle "baffled" by Joey Barton's QPR criticism

Glenn Hoddle says that he is "baffled" by Joey Barton's claims that not everybody in the team pulled their weight to steer QPR clear of relegation.

Glenn Hoddle has admitted that he is perplexed by Joey Barton's claims that recently-relegated Queens Park Rangers had a few "bad eggs" in the squad.

Barton hinted on Sunday that "certain people" could have done more to prevent Rangers' demotion, which occurred after losing 6-0 at Manchester City yesterday.

However, Hoddle, a coach at Loftus Road until February, says he is "baffled" by who the midfielder is referring to, stressing that no one person is responsible for their return to the Championship.

"I'm a little bit baffled by what he's trying to put across there, especially about being a wrong 'un," he told Sky Sports News. "I didn't find there were any wrong 'un's in that club at all. I know everyone was kicking in the right direction and trying their very best.

"I think there have been a lot of mistakes, both on and off the pitch. For instance, going into the pre-season, I was there a week before but they had 13 players when they went off on the tour. That is not a preparation going into the Premier League. From day one, we were in a negative scenario.

"I think everyone has made mistakes, Joey is included in that and I don't understand who he is saying the two bad eggs are."

QPR join Burnley in dropping back to the Championship.
