Joey Barton: 'Harry Redknapp wants me back at Queens Park Rangers'

Joey Barton has revealed that Harry Redknapp would like him back at Queens Park Rangers.

The 30-year-old midfielder, who is currently on loan at Marseille until the end of the season, said on Wednesday that he misses playing in the Premier League.

The former Newcastle United man has previously said that he would like to stay at the Stade Velodrome beyond this campaign, but now claims that he is wanted back at Loftus Road.

"I've talked to the people here [at Marseille] and yes, apparently they want me to stay," he told L'Equipe.

"But it is not that clear cut. The QPR manager has changed and I have a good relationship with the one who has arrived. He wants me back.

"But I do not see myself going back. Me, I want to stay here. Marseille supported me when I was suspended, so if they want me to stay, it will be my priority."

Barton has made 17 appearances for Marseille this season.
