Half-Time Report: Adel Taarabt threatens in goalless half

Taarabt threatens in goalless half

Queens Park Rangers and Norwich City head in level at 0-0 at half-time at Loftus Road.

Adel Taarabt had the first effort of the game after just two minutes, firing a shot wide from 25 yards.

The Moroccan was involved again on 11 minutes, breaking away from three defenders before dragging his shot just wide of the post.

Taarabt looked dangerous for Harry Redknapp's side and was involved in a swift attacking move with Shaun Wright-Phillips on 14 minutes, though Jamie Mackie could only scuff his finish wide from close range.

Norwich had their first real opportunity of the game after 23 minutes when Robert Snodgrass's powerful header went just wide.

The Canaries had another chance four minutes later when Wes Hoolahan's cross was met by Snodgrass again, though the forward could only head the ball straight at Julio Cesar.

Chris Hughton's side began to pile the pressure on the home side with another effort when Grant Holt headed towards goal, though a combination of Cesar and a defensive clearance kept the score at 0-0.

On 35 minutes, Taarabt found Wright-Phillips but pressure from Javier Garrido made the winger slice his finish wide.

Taarabt almost gave his side the lead just before half time when his corner clipped the bar.
