Half-Time Report: Wolfsburg, PSV Eindhoven in stalemate at Volkswagen Arena

Wolfsburg and PSV Eindhoven have played out a goalless first half at the Volkswagen Arena.

Daniel Caligiuri struck the first effort of the tie which Jeroen Zoet beat away as Wolfsburg went on the offensive from the start.

Adam Maher attempted to hit the target for PSV Eindhoven but his 25-yard volley flew wide of Diego Benaglio's post.

A deflected Jorrit Hendrix long-range shot almost caught out Benaglio as the Wolfsburg captain watched the ball sail just over the bar.

Luiz Gustavo had the best chance of the opening period for Dieter Hecking's outfit as he found space in the box but was unable to convert from close range.

PSV then missed the opportunity to take a half-time lead as Maher headed wide with the goal at his mercy from Joshua Brenet's cross.
