Report: Chelsea, Manchester City monitor Blaise Matuidi

Chelsea and Manchester City are reportedly interested in Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Blaise Matuidi as he enters the final eight months of his contract at the Parc des Princes.

The 26-year-old is said to be in talks over a new deal with the French champions, with some reports indicating that he could put pen to paper on November 4, subject to a requested pay rise.

According to L'Equipe, the Premier League rivals are lurking should the France international fail to agree fresh terms with the club he joined from Saint-Etienne two years ago.

Matuidi has excelled during his time with Les Parisiens, helping him to hold down a regular first-team spot despite sweeping investment from Qatar Investment Authority.
