PSG 'still hopeful of extending Mbappe contract'

Paris Saint-Germain have reportedly not given up hope of agreeing a contract extension with Kylian Mbappe.

With less than a year remaining on the forward's contract, Tuesday's transfer deadline day represents the last occasion where PSG can guarantee that they receive a fee for the World Cup winner.

As it stands, long-term suitors Real Madrid are yet to agree terms with the French side, despite offering €170m (£145.81m) with a further €10m (£8.58m) in add-ons.

While PSG have not officially responded to the offer, RMC Sport claims that they still retain ambitions of agreeing a new deal with the player.

Despite the suggestion from sporting director Leonardo that Mbappe has promised not to leave on a free transfer, it has reported elsewhere that Mbappe has no plans to pen an extension to his current terms.

The 22-year-old has insisted that he remains "calm" about discussions over his future.
