David Beckham eyes PSG star Zlatan Ibrahimovic for his Miami MLS team

David Beckham expresses his desire to sign former Paris Saint-Germain teammate Zlatan Ibrahimovic for his proposed MLS team in Miami.

David Beckham has set his sights on signing striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic for his proposed MLS team in Miami.

Beckham was teammates with Ibrahimovic at the Swede's current club, Paris Saint-Germain, in his final season as a player.

The former Manchester United man is in the process of forming a team in Miami, with the league granting permission and his team of investors acquiring ground to build a stadium in the city's Overtown neighbourhood.

Beckham said that if Ibrahimovic is still playing when his team is close to entering the league, he will make a beeline to sign the Swede.

"If Ibrahimovic is still active, then I want to buy him right away," Beckham told Aftonbladet. "He is a physically magnificent specimen, so it's entirely possible.

"Who does not want a man who is prepared to kill to win?"

Beckham also described Ibrahimovic, who has been linked with Premier League sides Manchester United and Chelsea, as "merciless".

"I have never met anyone who was so serious during both practice and games," added the Englishman.

"When I came to Paris I knew that he was an incomparable talent as a player, but he'd be so tough and merciless on himself at all times, I had no idea.

"He is a born winner. He is a beast with huge self-confidence, and I'm one of his biggest admirers."

Ibrahimovic, 34, has scored 15 goals in 14 Ligue 1 appearances for PSG this season.
