The home side eventually made the breakthrough on the stroke of half time as Matuidi headed in Zlatan Ibrahimovic's cross.

Javier Pastore and Ezequiel Lavezzi had chances to double the hosts' advantage after the break, but they were both denied by Remy Vercoutre.
