Lionel Messi among nine Paris Saint-Germain players to miss Angers clash

Lionel Messi is one of nine Paris Saint-Germain players to have been ruled out of Wednesday's Ligue 1 clash with Angers at the Stade Raymond Kopa.

The seven-time Ballon d'Or winner has been dealing with inflammation of his left Achilles tendon since Le Classique, and PSG are due to give a fresh update on his condition on Thursday.

Messi's fellow attacker Neymar will miss out due to suspension, while Julian Draxler and Leandro Paredes are both expected to miss the remainder of the season after undergoing surgery.

Layvin Kurzawa and Ander Herrera are both due to resume training on Thursday but will miss out against Angers, while Abdou Diallo also remains in the treatment room.

Mauricio Pochettino also has Marco Verratti and Presnel Kimpembe's knee injuries to worry about, with neither man available for the clash with Gerald Baticle's side.
