Laurent Blanc: 'Marco Verratti can score more goals'

Laurent Blanc expects Marco Verratti to score 10 goals a season for PSG over the coming years.

Paris Saint-Germain Laurent Blanc has praised midfielder Marco Verratti but challenged the Italian star to deliver more goals for the club.

Verratti has caught eye for Les Parisiens this season, but has only netted twice for the champions in Ligue 1 during the campaign.

However, Blanc believes that Veratti is capable of carrying a greater goal threat as his career progresses.

He told reporters: "I am convinced Marco Verratti can score more goals. He is a player that is comfortable in the opposition penalty area, even if he's often at the start of our attacks.

"In the future, he's the type of player that can score around ten goals a season. It's a pleasure for me to coach him."

PSG travel to Nantes on Sunday, looking to retake top spot from Lyon.
