David Beckham says that he cannot wait to play in the Champions League for Paris Saint-Germain against Valencia next week.

Paris Saint-Germain midfielder David Beckham has expressed his excitement ahead of making his return to Champions League action.

The former England captain made his full debut for the French outfit in their 2-0 win over Marseille on Wednesday in the Coupe de France.

PSG will turn their attention to Reims in Ligue 1 at the weekend before facing Valencia in the second leg of their last-16 clash, and Beckham admits that he cannot wait to play European football once again.

"I came here knowing that I wouldn't be in the team from the word go," said Beckham. "We have a good team and I want to add something to it. If that means starting then great, and if it means being on the bench then great.

"I played in some big games in the USA but you always miss being involved in big games like this in Europe.

"It is a while since I played in the Champions League so I am excited. It is a big game for the club but it doesn't mean that it will be easy."

PSG currently lead Valencia 2-1 from the first leg, ahead of their return match at the Parc des Princes.
