Carlo Ancelotti hails "very important" win

Paris Saint-Germain coach Carlo Ancelotti describes Wednesday's Champions League win over Valencia as a 'very important result' for the club.

Paris Saint-Germain coach Carlo Ancelotti has described Wednesday's Champions League victory over Valencia as a 'very important result' for the club.

A 1-1 draw on the night in France saw PSG progress with a 3-2 aggregate win over their Spanish opponents.

"It's a very important result for everyone at the club because after 18 years to reach the quarter-final it's very important," Ancelotti told Sky Sports News.

"Until now we did really well because we won the group, we won in the last 16 and I hope to do our best in the quarter-final."

PSG continue their quest for the Ligue 1 title on Saturday when they entertain struggling Nancy.
