Whittingham pleased with stability

Portsmouth caretaker boss Guy Whittingham believes that a settled side has allowed the team to pick up a positive run of results.

The former Premier League club have used more than 50 players this season with financial issues restricting them to short-term contracts.

However, Whittingham has led the team to 10 points from their last five games, having been able to field a more settled lineup.

"It's no surprise to us that once we got a settled group together, the form would start picking up," he told reporters at a press conference.

"We've had this group of players since the Bournemouth game last month and it's taken them a few weeks to understand each other and do what we want.

"That's what it's all about - having settled players that you can work with day in, day out. They all worked their socks off against Coventry."

Pompey currently sit 22nd in the League One table.
