Michael Appleton blasts strike duo

Portsmouth boss Michael Appleton has blasted the fitness of strikers Kanu and Benjani.

The pair have not started a match for the crisis-stricken club since Appleton took charge in November.

"I wouldn't be expecting too much from them," Appleton said.

"I can't afford to start playing players who I don't think will get through 45 minutes."

Portsmouth are currently bottom of the Championship, six points from safety.
