Jones signs new Vale deal

Port Vale defender Daniel Jones has agreed a new two-year deal with the club.

The 23-year-old, who helped the Valiants to promotion from League Two this season, has committed himself to the club until 2015.

The former Sheffield Wednesday player had initially moved to Vale Park in January on a short-term deal.

"Danny showed last season what he could do with some excellent performances in League Two," TEAMtalk quotes Vale manager Micky Adams as saying.

"He has had League One experience with Sheffield Wednesday and this will be important next season."

Jones has made 16 appearances for Vale.
