Team News: Robert Lewandowski leads Poland attack against Senegal

Robert Lewandowski leads Poland attack

Poland's top goalscorer Robert Lewandowski will lead their attack in their World Cup opener against Senegal.

The Bayern Munich striker will receive support from Jakub Blaszczykowski, Piotr Zielinski and Kamil Grosicki in the final third.

Defender Kamil Glik misses the match through injury, forcing the Poles to line up with a back four, rather than the three-man defence they used in the run-up to the finals.

Juventus goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny lines up between the sticks for Poland, while Napoli's Arkadiusz Milik has shaken off a minor hand injury to make the first XI.

Senegal, meanwhile, had a selection headache to contend with at the back but have opted to pair Salif Sane with Napoli star Kalidou Koulibaly.

Everton's Idrissa Gueye has been handed a holding midfield role alongside Villarreal man Alfred N'Diaye, who spent last season on loan at Wolverhampton Wanderers.

In the final third, Senegal will rely on the talent of Liverpool's Sadio Mane and Torino striker M'Baye Niang to provide the goal threat.
