Preview: Poland vs. Denmark

Poland vs. Denmark

Poland will attempt to extend their unbeaten run in all competitions to four games when they welcome Denmark in an international friendly on Wednesday.

The Poles have not been beaten since losing to Ukraine in March, while they remain in the hunt for a place at next summer's World Cup, currently occupying fourth spot in Group H, three points behind second-place England.

Denmark, however, have struggled in their Group B campaign thus far, with just one victory from their six matches leaving them in fifth position, eight points behind leaders Italy with four matches remaining.

Arsenal goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny should start in goal for the home side, while Borussia Dortmund duo Jakub Blaszczykowski and Robert Lewandowski are also expected to feature.

There are two newcomers in their squad, meanwhile, with Pawel Olkowski and Lukasz Szukala both hopeful of winning their first full caps for their country.

Denmark, meanwhile, could hand a start to highly-rated Ajax striker Viktor Fischer, who has been linked with a number of European clubs this summer.

Michael Krohn-Dehli is also expected to start in a wide position, but Jens Stryger Larsen might have to wait to gain his first full international cap.
