Former Peterborough United chairman Chris Turner dies, aged 64

Former Peterborough United and Cambridge United manager Chris Turner has died at the age of 64 after being diagnosed with dementia.

Turner made over 300 appearances for Peterborough before guiding the club to back-to-back promotions in the early 1990s.

He stood down as manager of the Posh in 1992 before becoming the club's chairman. Turner's coaching career started at Cambridge, where he took charge of the team between 1985 and 1990.

His playing career also included spells with Southend United, Luton Town and Swindon Town.
