The home side did most of the running in the opening exchanges, with Gabriel Paletta and Massimo Gobbi firing over the Bianconeri crossbar.
Ishak Belfodil had two good chances to put Parma ahead at the Stadio Ennio Tardini, but was first foiled by Gianluigi Buffon and then curled an effort just wide.
Amauri too spurned a chance to score against his former club when he fired a shot from close range over the Juventus crossbar, before Stephan Lichtsteiner and Andrea Pirlo tested Antonio Mirante between the Parma posts.
Juventus started the second half the brighter of the two teams and went ahead on 52 minutes, Pirlo's free kick taking a huge deflection off Jonathan Biabiany to get past Mirante.
Fabio Quagliarella went for an ambitious effort on 65 minutes with a shot from near the halfway line, but his attempt went just over the Parma crossbar.
However, it was Parma who scored the second goal of the afternoon in the contest, Paletta releasing Nicola Sansone to get past Martín Caceres and shoot home from inside the Juve penalty area.
Juventus, who had turned off the gas after taking the lead, showed more urgency after conceding but failed to find the target again.
