Brown injury 'not serious'

Oldham Athletic defender Connor Brown has admitted that he was 'relieved' to learn that his knee injury is not as bad as first feared.

It had been suggested that the right-back would miss the rest of the season with a cruciate ligament injury, but scans revealed that the 21-year-old has suffered cartilage damage.

"When I found out it was only the cartilage which had been damaged, it was the best-case scenario and a massive relief," Brown told the club's official website.

It is believed that Brown will be on the sidelines for up to two months.
