Matt Smith left "speechless" by Oldham Athletic win

Oldham Athletic striker Matt Smith has admitted that he is "speechless" following his side's surprise victory over Liverpool in the FA Cup fourth round.

The League One outfit stunned their Premier League opponents 3-2 at Boundary Park on Sunday to cause one of the upsets of this season's competition.

They will now face Everton at home for a place in the quarter-finals.

"I am left speechless by the result, we went out there wanting to battle together," Smith, who scored twice against Liverpool, told ITV Sport.

"We rallied and thoroughly deserved the win. We proved what we can do today and we will be looking to do the same against Everton."

Oldham, who are in 19th place in the League One table, return to action on Saturday with a visit to Walsall.
