Nottingham Forest are reportedly closing in on a deal to sign Botafogo goalkeeper John Victor.
The shot-stopper saw a move to West Ham fall through earlier this summer, but it seems he could still complete a switch to the Premier League before Monday’s deadline.
According to The Athletic, Forest are pushing to sign the 29-year-old to provide cover and competition to Matz Sels.
Nuno Espirito Santo has added Angus Gunn to his goalkeeping options this summer, but he still needs to recruit another shot-stopper following Carlos Miguel’s departure and Wayne Hennessey’s retirement.
John could become the third player to join Forest from Botafogo this summer, following the arrivals of defender Jair Cunha and forward Igor Jesus.
The Brazilian goalkeeper has kept 37 clean sheets in 89 competitive appearances since he joined Botafogo from Santos in January 2024.
Bournemouth reject Brooks bid
Elsewhere in the Premier League, Bournemouth have reportedly rejected a transfer bid from Crystal Palace for winger David Brooks.
The Eagles have seemingly identified Brooks as a potential target for the final few days of the summer transfer window.
According to journalist Ben Jacobs, they have formalised their interest by tabling an £8m offer for the Wales international.
Bournemouth have rejected Palace’s proposal and are reluctant to sell a player they view as an ‘important’ figure in Andoni Iraola’s squad.
Brooks has started Bournemouth’s opening two Premier League matches against Liverpool and Wolverhampton Wanderers.
The 28-year-old has entered the final year of his contract, although Bournemouth will surely be keen to extend his stay with the club.
Pereira swaps Fulham for Palmeiras
Meanwhile, Fulham have confirmed that midfielder Andreas Pereira has completed a move to Palmeiras for an undisclosed fee.
The former Manchester United midfielder made 119 competitive appearances during his three-year stay with the Cottagers, scoring 10 goals and providing 22 assists.
“From the first day at Fulham, I felt at home,” Pereira told the club's official website. “Thank you to my teammates, staff, and fans for every moment.
"After three years, I leave proud of what we achieved together. Fulham will always be part of me"
Pereira will play his club football in Brazil for the second time in his career after previously spending time at Flamengo.
Having bid farewell to the Brazil international, Fulham boss Marco Silva will be looking for the club's recruitment team to bring in reinforcements before Monday's deadline.
