Nottingham Forest secure dramatic win over Norwich City

Nottingham Forest secure dramatic win

Nottingham Forest have scored two late goals to secure a dramatic 2-1 win in their Championship match with Norwich City this afternoon.

Norwich started brightly and Russell Martin's cross-cum-shot caught Karl Darlow by surprise in the Rotherham net but he beat the ball away.

Thomas Ince then did well to find space on Forest's right flank as he curled a shot just over for the home side.

The Canaries opened the scoring through Howson, who brushed past two players into Forest's box before finding the far corner with a neat finish.

They could have doubled their advantage moments later when Martin's cross from the right was met by Lewis Grabban, but his header went just wide.

Norwich continued where they left off after the restart, with Howson and Gary O'Neil combining to play in Grabban, who forced Darlow into a good stop.

The visitors did not have it all their own way, however, and Michail Antonio ran at the Norwich defence before firing narrowly over the crossbar.

After a period of sustained pressure they eventually got the equaliser when Britt Assombalonga tapped home Matty Fryatt's square ball.

A draw would have been a great result for Stuart Pearce's men given recent form but they did not settle for the point and Antonio drilled home with minutes left in the contest to win the game for Forest in dramatic style.
