Andy Reid has admitted that he is delighted with the appointment of Sean O'Driscoll as Nottingham Forest manager.
Reid revealed that the players were asked their opinion and gave O'Driscoll, a former first-team coach at the City Ground, a glowing reference.
He told the official club website: "We were asked what we thought about him and straight away we said he'd be a really good appointment. He showed us what he is all about and has the respect and trust of the players.
"We're all delighted, out of all the names that were mentioned, no disrespect to anyone, Sean was the one that we were more than happy with."
Reid is optimistic the announcement will be a positive influence on the dressing room and expects Forest to be much-improved this season.
He said: "It just feels like everything is starting to come together. Once we get a few more players in, everything will be starting to look good."
Forest begin the Championship at home to Bristol City on August 18.
