Leicester City boss Nigel Pearson defends Wes Morgan

Leicester City boss Nigel Pearson defends Wes Morgan following claims that he should have been sent off against Nottingham Forest.

Leicester City boss Nigel Pearson has defended Wes Morgan following claims that the Foxes skipper should have been sent off during his side's 2-2 draw with Nottingham Forest.

Forest manager Billy Davies has insisted that the defender should have received a red card for taking out Jamie Mackie, but Pearson does not believe there was any malice in his challenge.

"These things happen. Wes, in the first half, just fell on [Mackie]. There was nothing malicious. It was just a wee bit clumsy. That happens in games," BBC Sport quotes him as saying.

"I try not to speak too much about individual incidents, the officials have a job to do and I can't make too many comments about it, without seeing things again."

Forest lie in fifth place in the table following the draw, while the Foxes are top with an eight-point lead over second-placed Burnley.
