Forest chairman 'to sell club within month'

Nottingham Forest owner and chairman Fawaz Al Hasawi has claimed that the East Midlands outfit will be sold in the next month.

The Kuwaiti businessman bought the club in 2012, and it is understood that he will stay on at the City Ground as chairman and also retain a percentage of the overall stake in the club.

According to BBC Sport, the potential buyer is shipping magnate Evangelos Marinakis, who is accused of match-fixing and directing a criminal organisation in Greece.

Greek Marinakis, who owns Olympiacos, denies the allegations and is reportedly awaiting clearance from the Football League over his purported takeover of Forest.
