Billy Davies reflects on Nottingham Forest's defeat to Wigan Athletic

Nottingham Forest manager Billy Davies says that his side will be better for their defeat to Wigan Athletic in the Championship.

Nottingham Forest manager Billy Davies was full of praise for his side despite suffering their first defeat of the season at Wigan Athletic.

Andy Reid gave Forest the lead at the DW Stadium before goals from Shaun Maloney and Jordi Gomez handed the home side a 2-1 victory.

While Davies was unhappy with the result, he is optimistic about what the club has achieved already this season and believes that his side will be helped by the defeat.

"I'm delighted with what we've done so far," he told Sky Sports News. "It's good for the players to get this defeat and get their feet back on the ground."

Forest host Barnsley in the Championship on September 14.
