Martin Allen tips Britt Assombalonga to be Premier League success

Martin Allen believes that Nottingham Forest striker Britt Assombalonga has the qualities required to be a success in the Premier League.

Martin Allen has claimed that Nottingham Forest striker Britt Assombalonga will go on to be a success in the Premier League.

The Barnet manager attempted to sign the 21-year-old during his time as Gillingham boss, before he went on to join Peterborough United.

Assombalonga has scored eight goals in 13 appearances for Forest since moving to the City Ground from Posh, and Allen believes that he has all the attributes to make it in the top flight.

"He has pace and excellent technical finishing skills and a hunger and appetite. He always plays on the shoulder of the last defender looking to get in behind them," Allen told the Daily Mail.

"I'm delighted he's gone on and done well, and I'm not surprised at his success so far this season. He will be banging Premier League goals in soon – and maybe for Forest."

Assombalonga moved to Forest for a club-record £5.5m fee this summer.
