Leroy Fer thrilled by Netherlands recall

Norwich City midfielder Leroy Fer has described his return to the Netherlands national team as "fantastic".

The 23-year-old, who last featured for his country over a year ago, has been selected as injury cover for the upcoming World Cup qualifiers against Hungary and Turkey.

"It's really fantastic that I am here again," he told Dutch newspaper Algemeen Dagblad.

"The first months at Norwich City gave me a good feeling, and the experience here in England is fantastic.

"Fortunately I could adapt quickly. I now also want to show that I have developed myself with Holland."

The Netherlands play host to Hungary on Friday before travelling to Turkey on Tuesday.
