"I'm really happy to sign for Norwich City. To challenge myself outside of Switzerland, in this club, for me, it is a dream come true," he told the club website.

"I know the head coach very well. Of course, this was a big part of my decision to come to the club. We talked a lot and he gave me a really good feeling to make this move.

"I want to make the fans from Norwich happy by contributing goals and assists."

Manager David Wagner added: "We are absolutely delighted to bring Christian here to Norwich City. He is a player I know very well, a top professional and he was desperate to come join us and test himself with a new experience.

"He has a track record, with many goals and assists at the top level in Switzerland and for the national team.

"This is a player we have targeted for some time. We have had to be patient, so it makes everyone involved very happy to get this over the line.
