Tettey: Playoff final the "ultimate prize"

Norwich City midfielder Alexander Tettey has described Monday's Championship playoff final as the "ultimate prize".

The Canaries take on Middlesbrough at Wembley for a place in the Premier League in what is often described as the most lucrative football game on the planet.

Centre-midfielder Tettey has compared the occasion to when he made his Champions League debut as a teenager for Rosenborg away to European giants Real Madrid.

"It's right up there for me because of what's at stake, where the game is and the atmosphere," he told Norwich's website.

"It's the ultimate prize to play at a massive stadium with a lot of history in front of 90,000 people. Winning against Ipswich (in the semi-final) was good but we're just looking to win the final as that would mean much more.

"I'd be fit to play this game at any cost, so it's all about getting ready for the ultimate battle. My target at the start of the season was to get back to the Premier League, and I know we're good enough."

Norwich, who are hoping to return to the top flight a year after relegation, lost both regular-season meetings against Boro without scoring.
