Alex Neil delighted by "unbelievable" Norwich City display in Middlesbrough win

Norwich City manager Alex Neil is quick to praise the performance of his side after they secured their top-flight return at Wembley.

Alex Neil has praised his group of hard-working Norwich City players for proving him right by gaining promotion to the Premier League.

Goals from Cameron Jerome and Nathan Redmond early on at Wembley earned the Canaries a 2-0 win over Middlesbrough.

City boss Neil was confident that his side would get the job done, and they did exactly that as they raced out of the blocks in double-quick time.

"I believed we would do it, but it's one thing believing it and another thing doing it," he told Sky Sports News. "Big players arrive on the big stage and you saw that in the first 20 minutes - we were unbelievable.

"We worked so hard to get here. The worst thing you can do is walk off having been scared."

Norwich are just the 23rd side in history to earn promotion back to the top flight at the first time of asking.
