Gary Holt to leave Falkirk for Norwich City role

Holt to leave Falkirk for Norwich

Falkirk manager Gary Holt will leave the club to re-join Norwich City and work under new Canaries boss Neil Adams, the Scottish club have said.

Holt was granted permission to speak to recently-relegated Championship side Norwich over the weekend and has now decided to return to Carrow Road.

He made almost 200 appearances for Norwich during a four-year stint with the club between 2001 and 2005.

"The club fully understands Gary's wishes to return with his family to Norwich," Falkirk chairman Martin Ritchie told the club website.

"We would like to wish him every success in the future and to thank him for all his work at Falkirk over the last year."

Holt, 41, left his Norwich role of assistant academy manager to become Falkirk boss in April 2013.

He guided the Scottish Championship side to a third-placed finish but then suffered defeat in the playoff semi-final.
