O'Neill won't risk Evans

Northern Ireland coach Michael O'Neill has said that defender Jonny Evans will play against Luxembourg on Tuesday only if he is fully fit.

The Manchester United defender suffered an ankle injury during his side's 2-0 defeat to Russia in Moscow in their opening game of the 2014 World Cup qualifying campaign.

"We have no major concerns over Jonny but we just have to manage him between now and Tuesday," O'Neill is quoted as saying by Sky Sports.

"If there's any risk we wouldn't take that risk and neither would Jonny."

Northern Ireland's game against Luxembourg is at Windsor Park in Belfast.
