Northern Ireland's Steven Davis: 'Reaching Euro 2016 would be huge'

Northern Ireland captain Steven Davis has admitted that it is "hard to put into words" how much of a feat it would be to qualify for next summer's Euro 2016 finals.

Michael O'Neill's side can book their seat on the plane to France if they manage to get a victory in tonight's qualifier against Greece.

The nation have not competed in the finals of the European tournament since 1986.

"It would be huge for us to qualify, you can't underestimate how big it would be but it is hard to put into words," Davis told reporters. "We just can't wait to get back out there.

"We're embracing it. I don't think there's any nerves, it's excitement in the build-up to the game. There is an opportunity there for someone to go and write their name in the history books."

Should the team fail to get the points that they need against Greece, they will have another chance against Finland three days later.
