Northampton Town complete Danny Emerton signing

Northampton Town have signed former Hull City winger Danny Emerton on a one-year deal.

The 21-year-old, who failed to make a senior appearance for Hull, had been on trial at Sixfields.

"Danny has had a very successful trial and I've been very impressed with him," Northampton manager Aidy Boothroyd told the club's official website.

"Sometimes when you get a player of Danny's age who is relatively untried it can be a bit of a gamble but I've got a lot of faith in him.

"I think he's got a lot of ability and he just needs a place where he can show what he is all about."

Emerton had a loan spell with Alfreton Town last season, making three appearances in the process.
