Langmead departs Northampton Town

Experienced defender Kelvin Langmead has left Northampton Town after having his contract terminated by mutual consent.

The 29-year-old joined the club from Peterborough United in 2012 following a loan spell at Sixfields Stadium.

Langemead made a total of 104 appearances for Northampton, scoring 12 goals in the process. However, he has struggled for first-team action after suffering a serious knee injury in 2013.

"I think he has come to an agreement with the club and he'll be leaving in the next couple of days," boss Chris Wilder told Town's official website. "We wish Kelvin all the best."

Northampton continue their League Two campaign on Saturday when they travel to Exeter City.
