Northampton Town boss Chris Wilder still confident of reaching playoffs

Northampton Town boss Chris Wilder is confident that his side can still push for the League Two playoffs after suffering two consecutive defeats.

Northampton Town boss Chris Wilder has insisted that his side can still reach the League Two playoffs despite suffering two consecutive defeats.

The Cobblers have slipped five points adrift of the top six in recent weeks thanks to losses against Bury and Carlisle United respectively.

Despite their promotion push taking a knock, Wilder is confident that Northampton can make a recovery.

"We're still in it," he told the club's official website. "We have made it hard for ourselves but as we have seen this season we have won games of football on the bounce and we need to do that if we're going to extend out season. The players have got to get on with it and take disappointment in their stride as well as take elation."

Northampton are back in action on Saturday when they host Luton Town in the league.
