Saturday's Ligue 1 predictions including Nantes vs. Nice

After suffering a devastating blow in the Champions League this week, Lens will shift their focus to Ligue 1 when they host Lyon on Saturday at Stade Bollaert-Delelis.

Domestically, Les Sang et Or are just a point behind Reims for fifth after defeating Clermont 3-0 last Saturday, while L'OL remained at the bottom of the table, losing 2-0 versus Lille.

We say: Lens 1-0 Lyon

As bad as it was for them at Arsenal this week, Lens have shown the ability to pick themselves up after a disappointing result, while their defensive shape has improved tremendously versus French opponents.

There have been a few positive takeaways for Lyon in recent matches, but not enough for us to believe their attacking quality has improved, with Les Gones tied for the fewest goals scored in Ligue 1 to date (nine).

Nantes vs. Nice (Saturday, 8.00pm)

Nantes can hand Nice their first defeat of the Ligue 1 campaign when the two sides meet on Saturday at Stade de la Beaujoire.

Heading into this encounter, Les Aiglons are just a point behind Paris Saint-Germain for the league lead following a 1-0 victory over Toulouse, while Les Canaris are 11th after playing to a 0-0 draw with Le Havre.

We say: Nantes 0-1 Nice

When you have a backline as well-drilled and disciplined as Nice, you can afford to take your time going forward when in possession.

We expect to see the visitors frustrate La Maison Jaune, who are struggling in the attacking third, while Les Aiglons always seem to do just enough to get by.
