Report: Newcastle United make Andre Ayew approach

Newcastle United have reportedly made an approach to Marseille over Ghana international Andre Ayew.

The 25-year-old midfielder is out of contract at the end of the season, but has been linked with a number of sides following his performances at the Africa Cup of Nations earlier this year.

According to the Daily Mail, the Magpies have already spoken to his representatives to make an offer ahead of this summer's transfer window.

Roma, Tottenham Hotspur and Everton have also been linked with Ayew, who has scored six goals for Marseille this season.
